Really Great Cajun Food (Crawfish!) - Lots of people, food and stuff for sale - One of the Best Sea Food Festival's in Florida. Info - 941-695-3941 Chamber of Commerce, 695-4100 Handles the Sea Food Festival. NO CRAWFISH THIS YEAR (Feb 97) , but there was a lot of foods and crafts!! The Airport has really been improved , FBO, 24 hr gas at $1.85/Gal, Clean bathrooms, phone, coke machine, fenced in airport, ride to the festival and David Blalock as Airport Supervisor . We'll have to revisit X01 for lunch!! Everglades, population summer - 300, winter 1200, Festival 50,000!!!!

Great Airport and Great Airport Management (Great Shuttle Service to the Fest). We picked up 5 lbs of Stone Crab Claws - $6/lb!!! Stone Crab Claws are the best food of the Gods! X01 gas $1.85!!! Fly to X31 Crystal River - Real Long E/W Runway, in between the trees. Never been to this one yet also, BUT Crystal River does have an AIRPORT which I've been to several time - Great FBO, Very Friendly, Buy your gas and pilot supplies there!! 3rd Weekend in Feb, One of the old time greatest , Grant is 10 miles south of Melbourne.

The A-La-Carte is really great, the best crab cakes and scallops ever. Lots of other stuff - clams & oysters, shrimp, dinners, hush puppies, beer, ice cream, entertainment. The Sea Food Festival opens at 11:00 AM, you should be there by 11:00, by 2:00 PM the field is really packed!! They have been know to run out of food by Sunday afternoon!! This is one of the largest festivals - probably 10 acres of food, rides, 4H, U Name It, They probably have it. "Rural Agricultural Celebration" (Redneck blast), arts, crafts, carnival rides, strawberry everything, Bluegrass concert. Concert tickets via Ticket master - Country!!! 5965 Wickham Rd., 1/2 mile north of Pineda Causeway, Melbourne, Florida. Again one of the finest local festivals. All kinds of Greek food, Great Sweet Deserts from Tarpon Springs Bakery - the best in the state. Greek Wine (Retsina - some love it, some say it taste like creosote), Dancing and partying .
