4 Upcoming Events:

Tentative Beach Dive June Dates [pending good weather – wind out of the west for 3 days, etc):
Saturday June - 11, 18, 25
Friday June 9, 16, 30
This would be a meet at Pepper Park, Ft. Pierce around 8:00 – 9:00 am. Pepper Park is on A1A and is 48.2 miles south of Eau Gallie and A1A. I’m working on a better direction and map. E-Mail me at Irishman@Sprynet.com if you’re interested in these dives. If conditions are not good for Beach Diving, I'll probably head to West Palm for a Narcosis Dive - riders welcome!

West Palm Beach, Narcosis , afternoon, June 24th for the Waterloggers Dive Club [ others are welcome ]. At the last Waterloggers meeting, I had volunteered to set up a club dive for June. Unfortunately, my favorite dive operation Narcosis out of Riveria Beach Marina in West Palm is pretty much booked for June and I was not able to get the discussed Sunday morning booking. So I booked it for Saturday Afternoon June 24th. – not what the club wanted, but it was about the only Narcosis Dive Slots available. I’d switch to Jupiter, but I don’t think I could come up with a boat that we’d all like! Going further south from West Palm would be hard for a Sunday Morning Dive. So here’s an available date for June 24, boarding at 12:30, leave at 1:00. I’ve got reservations for 12 divers. If we can’t fill it, I’ll cancel it 2 weeks before. The cost of $45 is a VERY GOOD price and there are no freebie divers – I’m paying also! I just want to promote diving. E-Mail me at Irishman@Sprynet.com if your interested in this dive

6 Past Dive Trips:

And our Beach Dive at Pepper Park on Sunday, May 28th. These pics were taken with my "New" Olympus SP-350 8 Meg Pix Underwater Camera [ hopefully, now the quality of my underwater pics will improve ]. You can note the quality difference by the first pic of the NEW Lifeguard Stand at Pepper Park. This is a cropped, NOT-Inhanced Pic and there still is a lot of detail. It was a GREAT Dive - Vis 30 ft!

To Dive or Not To Dive - Look at the winds:

[ For Boat Diving ] Wind...
N 10- 15 ... kinda bumpy
NE 10- 15 ... downright snotty
E 10- 15. .. not pleasant
SE 10 - 15 not pleasant
S 10 - 15 ... may be tolerable
W 10 - 15 ... TIME TO GET WET!!

[ For Beach Diving ] Wind...
N 5 - ... Maybe *
NE 5 - ... Don’t Go, Zero Vis, Dangerous Entry/Exit
E 5 -. .. Don’t Go, Zero Vis, Dangerous Entry/Exit
SE 5 - Don’t Go, Zero Vis, Dangerous Entry/Exit
S 5 - ... Maybe *
W 10 - 15 ... TIME TO GET WET!!

Maybe * = Look at the Jupiter CAM at: http://www.jupiterflorida.com/
If you see any waves, don’t go Beach Diving!
Hope this helps...
A 15 knot East wind will generate 6 ft waves in West Palm and a “Good” Dive Boat will not go out!

FIGHT NON- MOTORIZED VESSEL REGISTRATION
Do you oppose canoe & kayak registration? In other words, fees and yearly registration stickers for each non-motorized boat you own? To sign a petition against this movement (largely by the power boating industry) go to:
http://www.paddleflausa.com/Members/canoekayakregis.htm
Let your legislators know how you feel. Let the legislators who paddle know how you feel. If possible, develop a personal relationship with your legislators and invite them to come paddle! Keep your ear on the ground about any legislation or rumors of any legislation that might effect us. The rumor is that although MIAF (Marine Industries) says they won't pursue registration this year, they definitely will try in 2007 but the smoke signals are that they are trying this year. The registration will probably be attached to some unrelated, obscure bill so we miss it. We all need to get familiar with the legislative workings of our government. Email FWC (specifically Paul Oulette) with our feelings but I have heard from him and he does not want all the e-mails. I gave him the website address so he can keep going there and checking how many are opposed to registration. Numbers count! We need to get the sailing folks involved too as this will effect many of them. Anyone with any sail contacts please pass the info on to them. Let's start getting the media involved so contact your local media people!
