Paul's Reef / Flower Garden / Breaker's and the Trench

Dive Trip Report to: West Palm Beach, Dive Boat Narcosis Dive Charters , along with the Sea Dragons Dive Shop Sea Dragons Dive Shop on Barnes Blvd in Rockledge.
Purpose: La-La Dives - Ya jump in, go to the bottom, come back up a few feet, drift along and look at all the Pretty's going La-La-La! And with Bug Season quickly approaching, this gives a chance to practice the art of getting them little creatures out of their holes!

Dive Reports 17-July-2005

Dive #1: . My Dive #493
A. Dive Boat / Location: Narcosis Dive Charters / Paul's Reef [ south of the Breaker's Hotel a few miles ]
B. Conditions:
Visibility: 30 ft - not the greatest, but divable.
Seas: 1 - 2 ft
Water Temp: 82 deg on the bottom
Skies: Sunny, Clear Blue Sky's - Typial of Florida!!
Air Temp: low 90's
C. Dive Information:
Depth & Time: Me: Genesis Nitrox Dive Computer - 58 feet for 57 min, PO2 0.76, 28% NITROX
DP: 8:52am, 56 ft for 56 min, 83 deg, PO2 0.75 on 28% NITROX.
Air consumption: Me: (120 cu ft), 3700 lbs, to 1300 lbs. Capt wanted us back on the boat in an hour - we still had bottom time and air left.
DP: [ 100 cu ft], 3700 lbs to 1500 lbs
Current: Mild to the north. This was a nice current. It would carry you along, but you could stop to look and play without having to hold on for deer life.
Description: Lot's of fish and bugs and colors. Vis wasn't the best but there was a lot to see. No sharks or anything real big.

Dive #2: . My Dive #494
A. Dive Boat / Location: Narcosis Dive Charters / Flower Garden, Breaker's and the Trench.
B. Conditions:
Visibility: 20 - 25 ft, not the greatest, worst then the 1st, but still divable [ you could still see your fins ]
Seas: 2 - 3 and some occasional 4 footers!
Water Temp: 81 deg
Skies: Sunny, Clear Blue Sky's - Typial of Florida!!
Air Temp: Low 90's

Depth & Time: Me: Genesis Nitrox Dive Computer - 64 ft for 103 min, PO2 1.05, 36% NITROX
DP: 10:57am, 64 ft for 103 min, 83 deg, PO2 0.82 on 28% NITROX.
Air consumption: Me: (120 cu ft), 3700 lbs to 1300 lbs
DP: [100 cu ft] 3700 lbs to 500 lbs [ she was busy taking pics and practicing catching bugs]
Current: Again, mild to the north.
Description: Great dive - lot's of fish and bugs etc. Took us 50 min to get to the trench - a Long time. We started out at the Flower Garden [ I forgot how far away we were from the trench ], drifted along to some grass and then worked our way east. We went toooo far east and ended up on the Outer Breakers - 60 plus feet and fingers. So we worked our way back west to the normal reef line, went over the 3 phone lines then to the trench. Lot's of fish and bugs to see and play with.
