DIVE REPORT Saturday, 12-July to 13-July-97. Looe Key Reef Under Water Music Festival.

Dive Trip Report to Looe Key Music Festival (Friday night to Sunday afternoon). Saturday, 12-July to 13-July-97. Looe Key Reef Under Water Music Festival. Looe Key Reef Resort, Ramrod Key, mm 27 1/2 - Trips by Christine

Christine did a really great job of setting up the trip, transportation and solving all the problems. Trips by Christine are highly recommended!

The Looe Key Reef Resort is a great place to stay , good rooms, good bar & food - attached to the motel, good pool. The attached dive boat sucks - I would not go on this dive boat again if it were for free. They take your ‘C’ cards - I hate that, when you forget them, I takes a week for them to mail them back. The head on the boat is a pseudo head. I took many trips from the dive boat back to the dive shop back to the dive boat to get all the paperwork straight - even though we registered the night before. It was a real pain! Dive Boat Not Recommended!

One diver did not come back to the boat at the appointed time . We were told to return to the boat after 1 hour. After 1 hour and 20 minutes, the Capt. called the other dive boats to report a missing diver. We were not allowed to return to the water until the last diver pair returned. A while later, one diver returned. The diver stated that the diver’s partner was getting tired and they went to the closest dive boat without notifying our dive boat. They thought that was OK! After a while one diver decided to find our dive boat. The diver did so quite late. This dive pair was not allowed to return to the water. We went back in for the 2nd dive having our dive time cut short. Moral of the story - After the dive time is up, you are required to report to the dive boat. If your not there, your a missing diver and the Capt. may call for help - you could be in a lot of trouble if your not in trouble!
