Dive Trip Report - Beach Dive to Vero Beach

WE WENT, WE SAW, WE TRIED, WE WERE CONQUIRED BY THE SEA'S!!

Four divers showed up at RT 60 and the Atlantic Ocean at 9:00 am. The weather was light rain, cloud covered = full, wind out of the west, surf 1-2' at the beach with an occasional 3-4'. It looked dirty for the 1st 200' and then we could see some blue water. Calling the lifeguard at Ft. Pierce said vis at Pepper Park was ZERO. Three divers decided to give it a try - beach dive - what the heck, we were already there with all our equipment! I could not get one fin on and get past the surf. We were torn apart by the surf! It took us 5 minutes of rest on the beach to get back up to go up the stairs. One diver made it out about 200' and said vis was also zero. Well, we tried - and gained a lot of respect for the surf!

Were still looking for divers for

20-21 Dec (Sat-Sun) Drive to West Palm or beach dive.
